Current Season

Christmas 2024

We held our Christmas 2024 concert on Sunday 15 December, performing choruses from Handel's Messiah, Four Old English Carols by Holst, along with four other quite varied carols, the traditional selection of Christmas items, and audience carols.

Spring 2025

Saturday 10 May 2025: "Stuff and Nonsense!"

In our spring concert of 2025, we will be building on the success of last year’s Captain Noah and performing a programme of jovial music, including many settings of nonsense poetry by Lewis Caroll and Edward Lear. The fun-but-satisfying music includes a piece by Bob Chilcott but is mainly by composers with a Birmingham connection, including our own Music Director, Michael Turner, who says:

"There’s a tendency to see so-called classical music as stuffy, or an acquired taste.  I’m keen to let people hear that it is as approachable as any other musical genres and this programme will appeal to a wide range of folk, whether singers themselves or audience members.”

Rehearsals start Thursday 16 January at the United Reform Church, Church Stretton.  If you'd like to join us, or just give us a try, there are no auditions, just come along a few minutes before the rehearsal and we'll make you welcome.
